PRAGSAC patron, CEPHAS made a Teaching Learning Material (TLM) – Manila card to teach the astronomy club members about THE FUNCTIONS OF PARTS OF RADIO TELESCOPE during astronomy club session at Katakpor D/M Basic School in Katakpor near Pokuase.. Well done Cephas ????????
Prof. Benjamin Stappers, a Professor of Astrophysics in the Jodrell Bank Center for Astrophysics(The University of Manchester) and Ahenkorah Duodu Kingsley a PhD student of the University of Leeds interacted with the PRAGSAC club members at Kutunse M/A basic 1,2,3 and 4 students today to inspire them about Radio Astronomy.
Teachers who will help to run the astronomy clubs in future were taken through astronomy topics such as Earth/Moon/Sun , Solar System and the Universe of Galaxies, as well as some hands-on activities and demos. Their enthusiasm was impressive, they kept us busy with their many varied and insightful questions.
PRAGSAC team members delivered the initial presentation on astronomy, radio astronomy, GRAO and its benefits to JHS 1,2&3 students in order to inspire the students to join the astronomy club.
