Club monitoring and evaluation 2 The PRAGSAC team visited E.P. Kekeli International School in the Volta Region during their Astronomy Club Session.
The PRAGSAC team took part in the Eratosthenes’s experiment March, 2019 (measure radius of the Earth using the sun’s shadow) with Jerremite International School, West Legon and Unity Baptist Academy School, Achimota Ghana astronomy club members in a worldwide experiment.
The presentation started around 9 am. About 150 students and 5 teachers were present, including the Head of Dormeabra Methodist School 1. The presentation was on “The importance of astronomy to Ghana. The presentation was well received with a lot of questions from the students and teachers.
Prof. Benjamin Stappers, a Professor of Astrophysics in the Jodrell Bank Center for Astrophysics(The University of Manchester) and Ahenkorah Duodu Kingsley a PhD student of the University of Leeds interacted with the PRAGSAC club members at Kutunse M/A basic 1,2,3 and 4 students today to inspire them about Radio Astronomy.
